Abeer, who is only 7, took home a very credible 9th place in the Ladies Championship and today Little Lefanie came an impressive 2nd in the Grand Prix Qualifier. Elsewhere Abdul Aziz and Faize recorded a 2nd and 3rd in a Foxhunter class.

Figaro van de Bossrand WON the non-British bred 4 Year Old Championship and was licensed as a stallion by the AES and BSJA.
Renkum Bridger came 2nd in the British Bred 4 Year Old Championship.
Zalza WON the non- British bred 5 Year Old Championship with a fantastic, speedy double clear. This lovely horse WON the 4 Year Old Championship in 2008 so quite an achievement.
Faise WON the British bred 5 Year Old Championship which gave Old Lodge a Breeder Award and a bonus on top of the prize money of £2,000. He also won a Breeder Award and the 4 Year Old Championship in 2008.
Abdul Aziz performed very well and came 5th in the British Bred 5 Year Old Championship, WON a Breeders Award for Old Lodge and showed himself to be a very interesting horse for the future.
Bent Al Riyadh did not get placed but did get into the final which is a significant achievement in itself.
In the 6 Year Old British Bred Championship Hussah came a very credible 7th (Breeders Award) and Abeer retained her 10th place position as she was in the 5 Year Old Championship in 2008. She also WON a Breeders Award for Old Lodge. Mohammed also qualified for the final.
The Old Lodge horses in the 7 Year Old Championship showed their scope and ability by all making the Final with Sultan jumping with the greatest of ease throughout the week. His only pole down all week was in the jump off of the final and resulted in a Breeders Award and 10th place.
Bramati Z who was at only his 3rd show since this time last year jumped very well to achieve a 9th place in the class for horses of his age and one year older which have been bought through the Brightwells Auction. A class he can jump in again next year.
Statistically the results are an improvement on last year. There is always room for improvement but overall the results are excellent especially when you consider we were represented in all the Championships we could jump in (6 in all) and we WON 50% of them and were placed in the top 10 in 100% including a 2nd, 7th and 2 x 10th places.
Well done Team Old Lodge!

Despite the horrid weather and withdrawing many of our horses Old Lodge still achieved an excellent 1st place from homebred grade C Sultan in the Grade B and C Futurity Stakes today. This star of the future who has already qualified for HOYS Grade C and Foxhunter Finals this year, and WON the Grade C Championship at the Hickstead Derby meeting never fails to impress. Super Trooper came a credible 8th in the Young Breeding Horse Championship in the International Arena, a class he is young enough to contest in 2010. Mohammed jumped a lovely double clear in the Intermediate Stakes. Tomorrow sees Old Lodge jumping 4 horses in the International Classes and looks forward to an exciting day.
*RIHS WINS FOR SUPER TROOPER DE NESS, LITTLE MISS AND ABEER*

What an amazing day for Old Lodge Horses at Hickstead. Little Miss (homebred) WON the British Young Riders Championship for a 3rd time running!!! She was the only clear round! Super Trooper de Ness WON the Kingsmill B and C Championship. There were only two double clears, the second of which was another of our horses - Estrella de V - and then to crown the day a further homebred, Abeer, WON the Foxhunter from over 70 starters. Sultan and Sorraya (also hombreds) also both jumped a double clear in the 1.30m (still waiting for placings), Zalza came 2nd in the Novice and Abdul Aziz (homebred) also jumped a double clear and just waiting for his placing to be confirmed. Viengeurin also jumped a double clear in the 1.05m as she did yesterday. This is her first show so we are very pleased with her too. Yesterday we also had some excellent results including Bent al Riyadh 5th, Sabre 7th, Little Miss 2nd, Hussah 2nd, and numerous other doubel clears.
Tomorrow is the start of the International Classes where we have 4 horses representing the stud, as well as 18 horses jumping for Old Lodge in the National Classes.

*BRITISH YOUNG HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008*

The results from the British Young Horse Championships for Old Lodge bred and produced horses was outstanding.
The four year old results were amazing with Bramati Z, Cheers Charisma and Zalza WINNING every class that they competed in including equal FIRST in the non British Bred Championship. They achieved this without a single fence knocked down over the whole show. Faize WON two out of three classes including the British Bred Championship and Adbul Aziz WON one class and came 4th in the Championship. Although Saber did not qualify for the Championship he did WIN the Consolation. Old Lodge were the sponsor of these classes so it was great to see our horses doing so well.
On Thursday we had the Equimat Brightwells Stars of the Future Challenge. Old Lodge horses gave a demonstration on how a team of horses can be so well prepared with an outstanding 1st (Viola) 2nd (Super Trooper) and 3rd (Jawaher) in this class.
The Five Year Old British Bred Championship was over a very tough track of 1.25m. A real step up for our horses which they coped with very well. Hussah was placed 3rd in the Championship only 0.62 of a second behind the first horse. Abeer (who had WON the qualifier) but took 10th place as the fastest horse with one fence down in the jump off.
Jawaher must be recognised for her continued consistency. She jumped clear every day at Hickstead and then came FIRST in both of the 6 Year Old Qualifiers and jumped double clear to come 3rd in Equimat Brightwells Star of the Future Challenge (beaten by Super Trooper and Viola!) and then 10th place in the 6 Year Old Non British Bred Championship. Super Trooper, who also WON his qualifier, just rubbed a fence off in the Championship.
In the British Bred 6 Year Olds we achieved a super FIRST place from Sultan in the Qualifier but the Championship was not his day, however Vamoose stepped up to this 1.35m Championship and jumped the best we have ever seen from her to take 5th place the fastest horse with one fence down.
Old Lodge were presented with 5 awards from the British Show Jumping Association for the achievements of their homebred horses (Vamoose, Abeer, Hussah, Faize and Abdul Aziz). We also were given bonus prize money for the amazing number of double clears our horses jumped (Faize, Cheers Charisma, Bramati Z and Zalaz) and a further bonus for the 4 year old horses which were purchased through a Brightwells Auction and then jumped clear in their final (Cheers Charisma, Bramati Z and Zalza).
There were 517 horses competing of which 18 belong to Old Lodge. There were 7 Classes with 2 Preliminary Rounds, Consolation and Championship and one class which was a straight Championship. Old Lodge took home 17 x FIRSTS, 1 x 2nd, 2 x 3rd, 1 x 4th, 1 x 5th and 2 x 10th. The results speak for themselves on the amount of work, effort and especially the quality of the horses which Old Lodge own.

RIHS is going very well for Old Lodge to date we have had a WIN for Abeer and a WIN for Super Trooper De Ness in the Novice Stakes. Jawaher has had 2 seconds and a 3rd. Super Trooper came a very creditable 3rd in the Winter Novice final in the main arena. Little Miss came 6th in the 1.35m. Aneed, Hussah, Sultan and Abeer have all had good placings too.
But a special mention must go to Brickfield Boy who had a fantastic 3rd place in the International Two Phase class where there were over 40 starters.

Mohammed and Sultan were also well placed in their age classes.
*OLD LODGE WIN AT ROYAL WINDSOR HORSE SHOW CSI *
posted : 12 May 2008
Royal Windsor Horse Show 2008 was another good week for Old Lodge. Sultan, who has been accepted on the Equine Pathway, jumped a super double clear in the Foxhunter and Brickfield Boy, who is out of the smae mare as Sultan went on to WIN the Landrover International Stakes Two Phase(1.50m)and second in the Accumulator (1.60m) where Brickfield Boy set such a pace with full marks (flying over the 1.65m of planks)that fellow competitors struggled to catch his time, never mind the clear, until a fabulous effort by second last to go Graham Lovegrove and Angel who won by 0.18 of a second! Well done.
Comment from Jane Carley Horse and Hound reporter;
'Clear rounds were few and far between in the two phase competition, won with a bold effort from and early draw by Geoff Luckett and Rising Star Investments' Brickfield Boy. With a short distance from the last fence in phase one, Geoff was quickly on to the first in the second phase. A bright orange upright in the centre of the ring invited riders to angle it tightly, and he was one of few to succeed, giving a great gallop to a large oxer to finish.'
